Environmental Benefits

Unlike fossil fuel, solar power is clean and renewable! When you are generating solar power, you're eliminating the need to burn fossil fuel to generate that power. Installing a typical residential solar system has the equivalent effect of planting an acre of trees, or removing 6600 lbs of CO2 from the atmosphere every year. Over the course of 30 years, this would equate to 198,000 lbs of pollutants removed from the atmosphere!

As fossil fuels continue to add more and more carbon dioxide to our atmosphere destroying our ozone layer, it is imperative that we all get onboard in doing our part to minimize our carbon footprint. Now that renewable technologies, such as solar power and wind power have become highly efficient and affordable, the time is now to embrace these earth saving technologies.

As we saw with recent Fukishima nuclear disaster, which is not mentioned too much in the news nowadays, disastrous environmental impact can occur when a plant like this has a meltdown. For those who are knowledgeable about Hydraulic Fracturing for natural gas, there are heavy risks associated with this extracting process, which also threaten to have very large scale negative impact on our environment. As we've also seen with the recent Gulf oil spill, besides all the CO2 pumped into the atmosphere by burning fossil fuel, spills like these have devastating impact on our oceans and coastlines. It is time to act. The opportunity to is here, go solar, become energy efficient, recycle, ride your bicycle when possible, etc.
